Summer, Summer Time….

Whats going on??

Summer time is here and its time to relax the mind and body after a long school year and basketball season. Grade wise I finished up with a 2.75. It was a big improvement from the fall semester in my opinion. Looking back on my junior year I feel like I made the right choice to transfer here to UCWV for the school and the basketball program. My mindset is now that im a SENIOR next fall is mind-blowing to me. All the school work I have done doesnt mean anything unless I graduate next may.

Im working two jobs this summer to keep myself occupied this summer. Im working for the WV Power and the City of Charleston doing maintenece work for the different parks around the city.

Im staying here for the summer in Brotherton to workout with a few of my teammates down here. My brother John, Ron K, James E and Ibu. We are gonna be ready for next year and try and bring a championship back to UC in Mens Basketball.

Holla at cha later

Done, but only for a month.

So I cant even believe that I am OFFICIALLY a college Junior! This feels amazing! The Spring 2009 was so hard & I am so relieved that I am finished with those classes! I’m pretty sure I finished with a 3.4 – which I am proud of.

This summer I am taking Organic Chemistry. Yes, I have heard the horror stories! I am taking this course in the summer to get it out of the way & so that I can devote all my attention to it. This is probably the hardest undergrad course I will take as a Biology major. My bestfriend, also my sorority sister, Alisa, is staying this summer to take the course with me!

Sunday, my sorority went out to a Mexican restaurant by the river for our Goodbye Dinner for our Graduating Sisters. It was very sad, but very yummy! We are loosing 5 girls this May =(

Since I am staying here this summer, I DONT HAVE TO MOVE ALL MY STUFF HOME!! To all you incoming Freshman, moving and paking and unpacking SUCKS! Ha ha, but it’s worth it! I DO have to move ALLLL my stuff from Cox Hall to Brotherton to live there for 2 months, and then back to Cox for the next year – geesh!

Well tonight I’m just relaxing, and for ONCE I can finally relax without a care in the world!! I <3 summer!

Countdown til finals…

Hey guys! It’s been awhile, but I’ve been soo busy lately with these last couple weeks that I didn’t have that much time to post a new blog. Anyways..the Relay for Life went really good; we raised over $6,000!! I had a colleague dinner last week, and then a ton of papers to finish up before finals this week. It’s so hard to believe that I will be a sophomore next week. I have made such good friendships this year, and even thought some of those people wont be returning in the fall..I’m sure we will all still keep in touch. I have grown to love UC soo much that I couldn’t imagine my  life without it! I have a psych final wednesday and a bio final thursday. This week should be interesting, and a little stressful, but above all extremely sad. I do not want to leave for the summer..I will honestly miss everyone so much..home just won’t feel as much like home as it used to. I’ll be writing in next week to let everyone know how my finals went!:) Goodluck everybody!!

Winding down the school year

Whats good people??

Everything is going good around here. Today was the last official week of classes here for the year. This is were the pressure cooker gets turned up to its maximum level to try and get the best grades possible for the overall GPA for the year. I have been studying soooooo much in the library and my sleep pattern has been all messed up due to all the tests my teachers have been throwing at me in the last few weeks of classes. I know that im tryin to finish up strong for my first year here at UCWV.

Basketball workouts are crazy hard and everyone has been putting out the effort to get better daily. Man i only can imagine what the team is gonna look like for next year……Its gonna be scary

Time to get back to studying for this Quant test in the morning……I will holla at yall this weekend

happy easter! (:

Hey guys!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Easter! Mine has been pretty good. I got a kitten about a week early. He’s super cool and adorable. His name is Weezy (after Lil Wayne of course!). He’s only 7 weeks, but thinks he’s a tough guy like a cougar or something. And he never sleeps, ever. I feel like I have a newborn baby that I have to wake up with every hour.

So, there’s about 2 weeks left of classes. I can’t believe it. I feel like I have a million things to do between now and then too!! I’m getting ready to start on my creative project for Humanities (I’m making perfume, neat huh?) and then try and do my research paper for Media and Society. Boooo. I’m kind of sad that school is almost out. I’ll miss seeing everyone when they leave for home :(   It’s gonna be a looong summer. Gaby & I are hoping to visit some friends though, keep your fingers crossed for us! Well I’m going to do work and stop procrastinating :o )

B.White 25’s mind

Semester is winding down and its starting to feel like my head is about to explode with all of this work from alll of my classes. Three weeks before summer break is what im looking forward for but i gotta get through these few weeks.

Now since NCAA Basketball is over with the playing of the Division 1 National Title game last night. North Carolina Tar Heels beat up the Michigan State Spartans with the score of 89-72. From the opening tip off, North Carolina looked like a team on a mission and Michigan State was just the unfortunate team that got ROLLED over for the game. I wanted to have a good game cause its the National Title game but i didnt get my wish.

Went back home for the weekend and coached my AAU team to an eighth grade team to a Championship at the Solon Cage Classic in Solon, Ohio. Walking around some of the building brought back memories of me growning up and playing in that tourny from my 6th grade year to my senior year in high school. I kind of miss AAU basketball cause we got to travel to different states to play basketball.

Well, i have Finance homework I have to do so im gonna holla at yall later.

Another day, another exam

Hey guys! It’s been awhile, but I finally took my psych exam! Lst week was soo stressful. Anyways this week isn’t as bad..a few papers, and a couple assignments. I joined a team for The Relay for Life. It’s April 17th here at UC..it should be a lot of fun so hopefully everybody will come and contribute what they can! It’s so hard to believe that we only have four weeks until summer here at UC! I’m so excited, but at the same time I’m gonna miss all the friends I’ve made throughout the year!

Play at the Clay Center

I’m excited because tonight a few members of Sigma Tau Delta (the English Honorary Society–I’m VP) are going to watch a performance of To Kill a Mockingbird at the Clay Center.  It should be great!  We are really trying to build up our organization, so if you’re interested in joining let me know!  Sigma Tau Delta is a great way to get involved.

Update-semester winding down

Okay, so my planner looks like a pencil and highlighter puked on it.  I have so much stuff going on and so many assignments due that it’s not even funny.  I guess we have about 4 weeks left, and I have a feeling that things are only going to get more stressful for me.

Good news, I taught my first Microteaching lesson to a group of students at Dunbar Middle School.  I have to teach a unit for a total of 5 days to one specific class.  Today was the first, and I think it went really well.  The best thing about it was that I managed my time pretty well.  It’s really easy to under- or overplan if you only have 45 minutes to teach.  So I was happy about that.  Hopefully the other 4 lessons go well too!

Also, I got chosen to be a PE again next year…woohoo!!!

By the way, I am going to be a Zumba instructor this summer.  If anybody knows of some locations/facilities nearby that might be interested, PLEASE let me know!  I’m trying to go ahead and get some classes set up.

Thanks!

Jamie
